Overview
Safari by land and by water
This safari follows two of Tanzania's great rivers. It begins in Nyerere National Park, once part of the Selous Game Reserve, where the Rufiji River lets you swap the vehicle for a boat, then continues to the wide landscapes of Ruaha.
Nyerere from every angle
Three nights at Rufiji River Camp give you a choice each day: an early nature walk, a game drive, or a boat safari along the river. Seeing a park from the water changes the whole experience, from the birds on the banks to the hippos that surface beside the boat.
Then on to Ruaha
A short flight takes you to Ruaha River Lodge for three nights of game drives through one of Tanzania's great safari destinations, with full days and picnic lunches when you want them.

Day by day
Day 1Arrival in Dar es Salaam
You are met at Dar es Salaam Airport and taken to your hotel, with help at check-in. The rest of the day is free to rest before the safari begins.

Day 2Fly to Nyerere National Park
After breakfast you are collected for your light-aircraft flight to Nyerere. A guide from Rufiji River Camp meets you at the airstrip and introduces you to the park on a game drive to camp. Head out again in the afternoon, back at dusk.

Days 3 & 4Nyerere National Park
Two full days of land and water safari. Depending on the programme, choose from:
- Early morning nature walks
- Early bird and morning game drives

Day 5Nyerere to Ruaha National Park
A morning walk or game drive before breakfast, then the flight to Ruaha. Your guide from Ruaha River Lodge meets you and takes you to the lodge.

Two days in Ruaha, on shared half-day game drives or full days with a picnic lunch. Private game drives can be arranged at extra cost.

One final game drive on the way to the airstrip, then a flight back to Dar es Salaam, where you are met and helped with your onward flight or hotel.

Prices are per person sharing with at least one other adult. Minimum passenger numbers may apply.
Light-aircraft schedules can change for operational reasons, so flight times are confirmed closer to travel.
The itinerary can be adjusted: more or fewer nights, or different camps.
