When you think of a South African safari, you probably picture lions, elephants and open plains. But beyond the coastline lies another wilderness entirely. The Big Five Marine Safari takes you onto the ocean in search of the remarkable wildlife found along the Cape coast. No fences. No predictable sightings. Just open water and the excitement of seeing what appears.
Meet the Marine Big Five
Keep watch for whales, dolphins, Cape fur seals, sharks and African penguins. The species you encounter depend on the season, ocean conditions and wildlife movement on the day. One moment you may be scanning an apparently empty horizon. The next, something breaks the surface.
Get out onto the water
Your boat safari fee is included, so once you arrive the focus is simply on the experience. For wildlife lovers, photographers and anyone wanting more than Cape Town's land-based attractions, this is a very different way to explore the Western Cape. We collect you from your hotel or another agreed pick-up point and return you afterwards.
